World Cup Underdog Project — New Zealand Jersey
For New Zealand, we wanted to create something that felt cold, fearless, and psychologically intense.
The design takes inspiration from traditional Māori tattoo patterns —
sharp flowing lines, symbolic curves, and tribal geometries historically used to express strength, identity, and intimidation.
We reinterpreted those visual rhythms into a modern football pattern designed to feel aggressive without being loud.
Like a warning before kickoff.
New Zealand football has always carried a unique mentality.
Disciplined defending, physical duels, relentless pressing, and complete commitment for every second of the match.
They may not always dominate possession,
but they make games uncomfortable.
Compact. Direct. Mentally strong.
There is also a raw honesty to the way New Zealand plays —
hard runs, aerial battles, tactical discipline, and collective sacrifice over individual stardom.
On the sleeve sits the “All Whites” patch —
the nickname of the New Zealand national football team.
Simple in color.
Unmistakable in presence.
The contrast between the clean white base and the dark tribal-inspired graphics was intentional:
purity against intimidation,
silence against pressure.
